Halloween Birthday Party

My son's Haunted House Party was spooktacular! The kids were super excited, super thrilled, and so spookly dressed, including the adults which was awesome. Thank you to all our guests!
Enjoy my decor, games, food recipes, and DIY crafts, and last my own haunted room which was a major hit for all the kids and adults ;-)! Got inspired by pictures on Pinterest and the web but added my own crafty touch!

Please do pin it, share it, comment or question.
DIY pumpkins- Can of white and black paint/ black tape for black stripes/  black and silver ribbon and free hand style polka dots.

DIY- U need a skull/feather boa/tall candle holder. Place skull on the candle holder, wrap boa to make it look like arms!

DIY  - u need picture frame - one u have already/spider from the dollar store/paper/ google image result/Microsoft office word/and dollar store crystal decor &picture stand.

Trick or Treat
Wiches Broom - pretzel sticks & mini peanut butter bars

DIY- Display tags- paper, google images/microsoft office word/printer scissors/tape/wood skewers from the dollar store.

The Treat attraction "Drink at your own risk Bettlejuice slime" (Dry ice used under punch bowl, awesome, the kids couldn't get enough of it and they stood around to watch the Dry Ice smoke effect)

BEWARE - the haunted room was a spooktacular hit. The kids got spooked out but came back for more.

All the lights were off, black lights purchased at the dollar store were added/ sound effects/ and all our old costumes stuffed and placed around the room. I made the room into a maze by adding fabric sheets to the ceilings on a clothes line. I added black spiders and webs to the sheets and glow in the dark mice and bats, skulls, eyeballs, all purchased at the dollar store. And voila, spookyyyyyyyy ;-)

Have a SPooKY HaLLowEEN

Our Halloween Birthday Party games;

Ghost Waiter
Supplies needed:
Balloon for each team
Paper plate for each team
Teams of 2. Set up a course for them to race on. The child has to balance a balloon on a paper plate while walking and holding the plate in its mouth down the course until he reaches his partner, his partner must than bite the opposite side of the plate without dropping the balloon and balance it back the course to the finish line.

Spooky, Yukky Hunt Game. Fun and simple!
You need  a large and deep pot. Add the bottom of the pot with goodie bags, make sure to tie each goodie bag for each child really well. Fill pot with cooked spaghetti noodles, and a whole lot of jello purchased at the dollar store and mix it together, making sure the goodie bags stay at the bottom of pot. Top with dollar store mice and spiders. Place the pot in a corner of a dark room with a flickering light on to make it spookier (light bought at the dollar store). Have the kids follow the flickering light, and see who
dares put their hands through the mice and the slime to get to the goodie bag. They are only allowed one bag per dip.

The Skull Pinata
Bought a Skull Pinata, filled it with candy. The fun twist to the pinata was a balloon on the other side of the stick. For this you need someone to hold a sturdy stick, on one end have the pinata and on the other tape a balloon. Blind fold the kids when they hit just turn the stick and the balloon pops. So funny, they think they have broken the pinata and scream candy.

THE BIRTHDAY SKULL CAKE

This was my first birthday cake attempt and it came out spooky! I made a pumpkin -patch brownie cake. I googled a skull image, printed it, and did it all free hand, not bad for my first time ;-)

***I tripled the cake recipe for the birthday cake. Got this recipe from Pinterest, it is delicious.
